Where to get a blood test – updated site information
03/07/2023
The primary goal of the blood testing service is to decrease waiting times and ensure prompt booking of urgent tests, aiming for same or next-day appointments. Some sites also offer blood tests on weekends. The objective is to ensure that all patients can have their blood tests conducted within a seven-day timeframe. Booking and cancellation of appointments can be done conveniently online or over the phone.
For any comments or inquiries regarding this service, please reach out to your service provider’s complaints team.
- Please note that there are currently no walk-in services available for patients in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge. All blood tests must be pre-booked.
- Appointments for blood tests for children under 12 (or under 16 with a Learning Disability) are only scheduled through the Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) Children's Outpatient department.
- Remember to bring your paper blood test form to your appointment, as it is required for processing. If you have a blood test form from BHRUT, it can also be used at community sites.
Please refer to the attached patient leaflets for further information. For a complete list of sites, please visit the NHS NEL ICB website.
